Same here. I still remember visiting the gorillas at the zoo, as a kid. It hasn't left me, that recognition, seeing an intelligence being looking back at me. I hope Koko enjoys many more kitten cuddling years to come.

Yup grilling outside, on gas. I know, I know... I like the quick start and easy temp control. That Salmon sounds delicious!
Doing beef tenderloin, jalapeño cheddar turkey burgers, grilling up some corn on the cob and tomatoes for tossing with arugula, avocado and goat cheese for a nice simple salad.

@ tojo, thanks, it IS like heaven! What I love most is how uncrowded it is. The beach is all white sand and great surf but you have a good 100 feet of personal space between each group of people and that's in the "busy" section. Walk about a minute and a half and you have a good 500 feet of your own space before you have another group camped out on the beach. So there are people around and in the water but boatloads of space too.
Whamo, you BETTER go on that trip! Don't end up 80 years old and wishing you had spent more time with family and it sounds like these people are family. Do what you have to do with work and make the trip!!

Olives are da best and really good for you. You're grilling outside, right? On gas or charcoal? There are some amazing chefs on this site; I'd listen to them over me. I'm grilling marinaded salmon steaks, with wasabi finishing sauce, peppers, and white corn.

I loathe olives...will tolerate a nice light olive oil though. Now have to try and find butchers twine if I'm grilling if whole. Was trying to avoid the 1hr-1.5hr of cooking it whole but if it's better that way...

I'm working and as most of my clients are American I might as well not be here at all. The phones are dead and I've yet to get a single email. Had a great BBQ on the week end saw some friends I haven't seen in years, we are all getting older but what can you do eh!
I'm gearing up for my annual fishing trip with the boys, this is my buddy, his dad (he's kinda like my dad too, long story ) and his kids. I love hanging with the kids as I've seen them grow from babies to young men. The oldest is 18 now and training to be a fireman out west. They love to party with their Uncle..(Insert my name here:) and it's always an adventure. 5 days in the middle of nowhere about three hours north of the city. The thing is I'm not sure if I can go this year, I'm working on a project that might keep me tethered to my desk, it depends where I'm at on it as to if I can get away or not.
Anyway at this point some of the bitches are probably WTF Whamo go to OP with this shit...Fuck you Bitches...WE'RE TALKIN HERE :P *uses Dustin Hoffman voice*

Oh Wham - we are right on the ocean, overlooking the whole beach and pier as well as the lush tropical gardens and swimming pools (there are 4!). Our condo is really nice and spacious and loving the balcony and falling asleep to sounds of the ocean.
We took the kids night swimming last night as a treat - all the pools lit up from the interior and water warm, we let them swim till 10pm. They are enjoying us playing and being with them all day but we take an hour or two to relax on loungers or on the beach as they play. We ate out for the first time last night (my own cooking would have been better) and pretty much make picnics and have dinner at home in the evening.
Our trip down was horrible, next time we'll take a break and stay at a hotel. Too long with a 6, 7 and 8 year old. We could not do rest stops for 200 miles due to power outages in West Virgina and we missed the terrible storms by only about 4 hours!
Weather is in the 90s every day but you can't tell with the ocean breezes so it's perfect.
Today I have to write an article but we're going downstairs to the beach in about an hour. It's about 500 feet from us and water is warm.
All in all, we are super relaxed and soaking up the outdoors. And in bed by 11pm because we're so tired from all the activity and heat! GRAMMY AND GRANPA!
