My birthday was this past Thursday, the 19th, and while I usually make a big deal of my birthday week, I couldn't have cared any less. Since I was in the hospital, my mother was away on business, the hubs had to work extra-late and my only presents consistedly of 2 units of blood, 1 unit of plasma and a "feast" of an all-liquid diet. In true diva form, I cried pretty much all day.
However, on a good note I opted to postpone my birthday until I got out and could celebrate with my loved ones AND CAKE. Of course I'm grateful for each birthday I encounter, but right now I'm equally stoked that I'll be 31 for a couple of more weeks :).

I liked No Doubt (they weren't great, but alright!), but not the noise pollution that came after with Gwen's solo career and pushing perfume and everything else.
Gwen had a couple of nose jobs YEARS ago. Recently, all I can see is an obvious eyelift and some laser resurfacing. But who knows what else lies beneath her 6 layers of cake.
I also think it's pretty pathetic (maybe even 'Young Adult' uncomfortable) that she keeps trying to have some immature hold on her bandmate. I think dude has moved beyond his infatuation of you, Gwen. Think you can live with that?
I think the only No Doubt song I liked was "Ex-Girlfriend." I did like her remake of Risk Astley. I find her completely overrated but I do like looking at her -- flawless skin.

yeah I am old, yeah I love Gwen and if you knew the history, this band survived death, lots of years of struggle until they finally made it on their good songs and Gwen's allure. She is hot, always has been and seems like she always will be, give me her quirky real voice any day over the autotuned monsters they are cranking out today, Gwennie will put Madge to shame when she hits Madge's age....she is genuine and so damn sexy...and I think talented so there. I really agree with this! While I love me some nostalgia, especially when it comes to music, No Doubt just never really did it for me. As a teen I used to laugh at the ska-heads complaining about everything and worrying about being "down with the struggle". But that's just my opinion and I accept that a lot of people laugh at me for being willing to do A LOT of things to get my hands on Bob Seger or Fleetwood Mac tickets(those old farts never go out of style to me). And I did buy some of Gwen's Harajuku Lovers clothes like 6 years ago, but that semi-teenie bopper style looked okay on me because I was still about 21. It looks rediculous on a 41 year-old(hint, Gwen). If No Doubt wanted to reunite like 10 years from now and just for the sake of music and not acting like it is still 1996, I would have a lot more respect. There is a big difference between celebrating/remembering a good thing of years past and just desperately trying to hold on to youth.
