My vacay was great. Saw friends for the first week who I hadn't seen in YEARS. We did Crater Lake, Lassen Volcanic Nat'l park, and the Dog Bark Inn. Ended our vacation together at Glacier Nat'l Park, where I met up with my parents, and we went on to Yellowstone from there, the Grand Tetons and Jackson Hole, then spent a day in Thermopolis and enjoyed the mineral springs and dinosaur museum. Then I spent two days at my parents home, and then UGH! Back to reality.

My drama might be on the last 3 or 4 pages of the Op. Maybe 5. Not sure. It isn't that spectacular. Just getting a horrible renter out of my rental home.

Oh no, I am so lighthearted, no grumpiness here!
We travelled for 3 weeks out of 4, this July. Great times, great memories. Tennis is going really well - last tournament tomorrow evening and I am playing singles for the first time, am terrifed. If we win, we take it all, and head to Districts! As in - holy shit!

We just got back and settle for about 2 days before our inlaws arrived from the Netherlands but they are lovely, if old and a little infirm so I'm delighted they are here for two weeks!

An Olympic opening ceremony should use the national character of the host country to bring everyone together, highlighting the beauty and power of humanity. China did that last year, as many other OC before. China's OC showed how humans can work together in perfect unison. That's what Chinese do best, yes, but that's something every nation/society can share. The London ceremony was exclusive of anything but British "culture." It wasn't meant to share the human spirit, it was meant to tell everyone that the world owes Britain. It was self-centered, arrogant and exclusive (not to mention dull and technically ill delivered). But I suppose that, in addition to all the mary poppings and winston churchills, those are the traits Britain best brings to the human spirit after all...

I loved the whole show,the deaf percushionist, kids choir etc. It was brilliant to have the Queen drop in and really was an all inclusive show.

I watched just 15 minutes of this shitfest yesterday before backing out the door but then I am not a lover of this kind of entertainment. Even when we did in here in Vancouver two years ago I was cringing in the corner and so happy when it was all over. Hang in there London.
