This Is The Look: Tommy Lee Jones' Luscious Wig In Lincoln

I'm probably not going to watch Steven Spielberg's Lincoln biopic, because if I want to learn more about old timey American history, I'll just play another round of The Oregon Trailer on my Apple II. But if you're going to see it, please clap during the end credits when you see the words: "All Gorgeous Wigs Furnished By Shh! It's A Wig." Because the Ogilvie Home Perm extravaganza on Tommy Lee Jones' head tell me that Shh! It's A Wig had a hand or two in it. If you put a clear plastic shower cap over his wig and threw a floral house dress on his body, he'd look like somebody's grandma going to water the driveway in the morning. Or like he's about to sing "I Dreamed A Dream" on Britain's Got Talent. What I'm saying is that bitch looks hot.

The full trailer for Lincoln (Working Title: If You Don't Give Us All The Oscars, You Hate America) is below and some people are crying about how Daniel Day-Lewis doesn't sound like Lincoln-ey enough, but I'm more mad that Bill & Ted are nowhere in the trailer and that Steven Spielberg didn't release this a million years ago, because it'd be the perfect movie to nap to when my American History teacher plays it during class.

Lincoln pretty much stars everyone from Sally Field (who is always grabbing people by the arms to give them really a intense pep talk) to Joseph Gordon-Levitt to David Strathairn to Lee Pace to Jackie Earle Haley to Jared Harris to James Spader to Hal Holbrook to Gloria Reuben to Adam from Girls. I'm calling it right now. The scene they'll show at the Oscars for the Best Picture clip is the scene where Adam from Girls pees on Lincoln in the communal shower.

I get that the movie is about this Lincoln fellow, but the trailer needs A LOT more Joseph Gordon-Levitt. A LOT.

Adam from girls? Really? That dude is totally scarred as an actor for life now because of that role, just like Juliette Lewis in The Other Sister

LOL. I'll watch the trailer when I'm done with the Fuck Your Body song.

EDIT: Well, it looks interesting yet boring. I'm sure if I go see this I'll be sitting with all the grandparents and college professors. And high schoolers who's teacher will give them extra credit for having seen it.

The duct tape was for potentially securing our beloved Jacko. Strictly precautionary, of course. *wide grin*

@ withy.

Yup...DDL and Lena Olin with the bowler hat. One of the hottest scenes on film.

I watched an old 80's flick with Molly Ringworm and Spader. IMO, he's just gotten better with age.

Bacony, take care not to surprise Spader in his bed with the duct tape, he might not like that. Warn him first! llooll

OnT: Daniel Day-Lewis in Unbearable Lightness of Being, was yummy too! ;)

I'll bet that's what Jason Bateman will look like when he's older (the pic above of Tommy Lee).

There is just something about his voice that turns me to Jello. AND, he's a gourmet cook. AND he is blind as a bat without glasses, so I wouldn't have to worry about the errant pimple or chin hair. :D

@ Bacon

Me too. Love me some Spader. A big heaping helping.

James Spader. Would. Until neither of us could walk.

Don't know what you mean by that. Too broad a generalization.

It means she read the article about it on the huffingtonpost a few hours before this post and is thus smarter than 'willfully ignorant' Americans.

Can't wait for Lincoln movie.
Maybe used material from Gore Vidal's "Lincoln" which is an awesome read. Mary from the South and all her brothers in Confederate Army. Washington DC infested swamp. Kids dying. Abe shot at many times before Booth got him. No wonder she went nuts.

NO CHEESE SPIELBERG!

I'll give DDL the Oscar if he takes his shirt off. Naughty Lincoln; that's how you'll get people to watch a history flick.

MK, that wig is not LUSCIOUS! With so many excellent actors, this cannot be bad.

I remember being totally sad when I finished the Hobbit because it was such and adventure.

I felt the same way with Swan Song by Robert McCammon. It's was sort of like S King's The Stand, it was a good verses evil who will reign supreme type of story. It was one of my favorite reads and I was bummed out when it was done as well.

Yes, I am very interested in seeing The Master, though I will most likely wait until it hits HBO or one of those movie channels I get.

I will, however, go to the cinema to see The Hobbit.

Actually, Field is much too old to play Mary Todd Lincoln, plus she's like 12-15 years older than DDL. She looks OK, though - guess women aged a lot faster in those days.

Field is 10 years older than DDL. There may have been younger actresses to play the part, but apparently Spielberg had a vision for it, and Field fit it.

Yes, believe it is. Philip Seymore Hoffman is getting big praise as well. I might have to go see this movie just out of nosiness.

Put me int the LOTR's fan club! Next to Star Wars and Godfather's--my fav.

As excited as I am about the Hobbit, I can't think of how Peter Jackson's going to be able to stretch it into 3 movies. Is he also going to use background material from LOTR? or the Silmarillion? Not that I have a problem with any of this, lol....the more Tolkien the better...but I'm just curious as to what he's going to do, since the Hobbit book isn't that long.

OK, I hope those engravers are hard at work putting everyone's name from this film on those Oscars. Hell, they should just do musical acts from The Book of Mormon instead of the award show. Because when tht's made into a film, it's going to be the same story....

@Whamo yeah, they really were! My favourite is the extended version of Fellowship, the first one. It's closest in vibe & interpretation to the book out of the 3 movies. I re-read the gigantic book every other year or so- just did last month, when my computer crashed & phone got stolen and I had nothing else to do but read books. LOVE Tolkien, and Jackson too.

=============================================
You're going to make me weep with nostalgia. Yes Philly had the funk nailed down hard in the 70's for sure!

You're so right as far a top 40 playing it all. Music wasn't pigeon holed as bad as it is now, now there is so many genres and sub genres it's ridiculous.

Submitted by Whamo on Fri, 09/14/2012 - 3:17pm.

AGREED! I think Jackson is better at FX films than Spielberg. Like you, Jackson brought to life what I imagined while reading. I am absolutely giddy to see The Hobbit, and FUCK THE H8TRZ!

I think people just like bitching about Jackson's work, which I find brilliant for the types of films he does.
==============================================
They said LOTR could never be done properly sine the day the book was written (you know what mean lol)

I don't think that movie could have been done ANY BETTER than it was. It was a MASTERPIECE pure and simple. I have never seen a movie that followed what my imagination had it looking like. While it was crazy long it was still the best fantasy film ever made from a boor bar none.

Whamo -Right On! How about the music? I am a huge fan of 70's R&B and Funk, as well as Rock and Pop. There was experimentation, and Top 40 radio played it all!(even if they had to shorten songs for the 3 minute format).

And The Hobbit is going to be seriously fucking awesome. I'm one of the biggest LOTR fangirls out there and I am going to go full on Twitard and line up the night before in front of the cinema.

I promised my dad I wouldn't see it without him, so we will be in line too!

I watch LOTR every time they are on one of the movie channels, and am thrilled when the three movies are shown together! I cannot tell you how many times I have watched the trilogy, but it's been a bunch.

My uncle gave me a leather bound edition of The Hobbit when I was 10. LOVE that book!
