Evilshoe-I'm so sorry for what you're going through. Someone I know has been dealing with a TBI for over a year-it is truly life-altering.

Thank you! It is life-altering. You look fine but your brain is jacked up.

Today, I was trying to log into my bank account via phone and it kept asking security questions I didn't know and after like ten minutes I looked at the account number and I put in the one from when I was married! I had to call my ex and tell him in case the bank alerted him to a hacker alert. UGH Luckily we are friends and he was cool.

To me, Vicodin is like extra-strength Tylenol--it does nothing. But the post-op (rotator cuff) nurse gave me two Percocets on an empty stomach and I was dry-heaving and spinning for hours. I didn't even have any pain to abate; they just stuff 'em into you just in case you might feel any pain.

For the surgery itself, they gave me a cocktail with Propofol in it--the stuff that MJ OD'd on. I didn't feel or remember a thing.

Sorry to hear that EvilShoe :( Maybe some other combination of meds will work for you. You may need to keep trying until you find better results. I hope you've looked into what facilities your school offers so you can take your time studying without worrying about running out of time. They're very accommodating these days. Have you asked?

And once your best friend cools off a bit, she'll think things through and approach you again. I wouldn't worry too much about that. ((hugs)) :P

Okay whores. I finally, finally hit bottom with focus, retaining information, memory and worst of all: social skills. I lasted five months before crashing. I'm broken. No alarm bells or freak outs though. I asked for medicine today for focus etc... It's like one day I suddenly acquired ADHD and can't do shit. I get frustrated, I'm studying upwards of 12-14 hours a day, not exercising or eating right. So, naturally, I take it out on my best friend who has shut me out.

I work in the field of alternative medicine. I hope you don't mind me interjecting an opinion. Sleep deprivation and not getting the proper nutrients from a poor diet may have a lot to do with your crash. I always stress "self-care" meaning be good to yourself as to what you put in your body, moderate exercise and proper amount of sleep (minimum 8 hours) in a completely darkened room.
I hope you feel better.

UBF: in my experience, patients sometimes report nausea with Vicodin, but not with Percocet. Percocet IS a stronger narcotic. However, both have that side effect. It helps to have something in your stomach when you take it.

During the recovery period, I hope they give you Dilaudid, instead of Morphine because it's stronger and works better.
