What In The Hell Kind Of GD Outfit Is This?
Somewhere there's a family that's extra sad while eating fried chicken and watermelon on patch of grass, because Mimi stole their picnic blanket and wore it in Aspen on Saturday night. Mimi wore this mess on the streets of Aspen, CO and I'm really surprised that nobody laid her ass on the ground and ate potato salad and hot dogs on her dress. I'm also surprised that a champion WWE wrestler didn't charge her and tackle her ass to the ground, thinking that she stole their belt. Yes, I'm sure Mimi's Aspen ski mansion has several mirrors, but in her defense they all broke when they peeked at this outfit, so she wasn't able to see what she looked like.
And you know, I can't fully hate on that messy "Cowardly Lion used way too much Dep gel" hair. It's very Lady and the Tramp meets chola fresh out of the pool. It takes a lot of gel and a lot of scrunching to get messy hair like that.
I can deal with the outfit, but what the fuck is that hair about?

I've read about those postulations and find them interesting. The thing running through my mind while watching that video was HOW THE HELL DOES A GROWN MAN STILL HAVE A SPEECH IMPEDIMENT? WHERE WERE THE SPEECH THERAPISTS WHILE HE WAS GROWING UP?!?!?

LOL. I've never liked the smell as a kid, and I thought those with raisins looked gross. There's different variations across the continent. From what I've tried, my favorite are the venezuelan ones (hallacas).
Off to sisters house to eat pasteles and pernil, then tomorrow to inlaws to eat the very same thing :)

I freakin' love tamales. Wish I could make them. I mean, I probably could but I'm lazy :) When I was a kid, I loved the sweet ones with raisins and nuts. I like them in all forms, green chile and chicken, red chile with pork, the yummy sweet ones with some kind of spice in it, maybe anise?

Mulberry started the clothing range very recently, I think in the last 3 years or so. I always thought it was matronly as hell too, and I don't get how anyone who isn't 6-ft tall and 7-stone light can wear any of it and be chic.

que cochina, we make tamales several times a year! I love them but I usually just eat one or two and that's it. Its funny that I still like them since just the smell of things can turn me off and they go on my "will never eat again" list. : /

Did somebody say tamales? Damn those are a tough to get made. Mom, aunt and sister worked on the family recipe last week. I can't complain, they've been making them for decades but I only tried them last year. I never liked them, I hated them as a kid, now I like them, but I actually tried my Venezuelan friend's variation first.
Snow Owl and Salacious: My granny used to love those sweet ones with pineapple and raisins. Me, not so much. In fact, I'm not a tamale fiend. It's a tradition, but if it were to be cut off one year, I wouldn't be heartbroken. It's funny -growing up, we had a neighbor who, as a small child, got out of Nazi occupied Austria. He LOVED my mom's menudo and tamales!! That used to crack me up. One year, my parents' friends who were Puerto Rican brought some of their tamales....OMG - not knocking all Puerto Rican tamales, but these smelled soooo bad, even my folks who will pretty much try everything, tossed 'em!!
Wowlie, you lucky duck, having your birthday and Christmas so close together but with enough of a break that you get two celebrations!! I see many presents in your future, lol! You probably have a houseful of relatives visiting, who doesn't? Feliz Navidad to ya Wowl!

I've never made tamales form scratch but I help assemble them. In adittion to the pork tamales, sweet bean tamales and raisin tamales, we are also having pineapple ones. I hate pineapple unless i cut a slice from the fruit, otherwise, it tastes gross.

Ergh! Tamales - they sure are A LOT of work. Hate to say it but when mommy goes over to the other side, I am going to just buy them.
GG - VERDAD! I am a failure as a Messican! I can assemble tamales, but have never made them as my folks did. This year, however, folks are viejo y cansada, so we bought (hangs head in shame) the tamales. However, mami is making pozole tomorrow. She makes killer pozole, so I'm looking forward to that!

My MIL is a sweet,if some what befuddled woman who is on some other plane most of the time. Her bestie was her ex sister-in-law who was an IGNORANT, ILL MANNERED, SLOVENLY piece of trailer park trash. When she heard my maiden name she was AMAZED that I had no accent! To top it off when the little Gardeners came she called them HALF-BREEDS! WTF? I told him sorry but I am NOT going to see your mom. She had to have the SIL over all the time - they were codependent. MIL cooked and drove while the SIL ate and mooched. That woman was finally uninvited one Thanksgiving when my BIL brought over his new fiance, who is black. Yeah, she said something "rude".
