Christina Applegate Quits The Mess That Is Up All Night
Will Arnett has lost his TV wife, because Christina Applegate is taking the next dinghy to dry land before Up All Night sinks to the bottom completely. NBC said a few months ago that Up All Night would get overhauled and they were planning to change it from a single-camera comedy to a multi-camera sitcom complete with a live studio audience and a laugh track. Even though one of the stars of the show has exited stage left, NBC is still planning to shoot a new season with Will Arnett and Maya Rudolph and they're planning to bring in another lead actress. Kelly Bundy gave this open goodbye letter to The Hollywood Reporter and basically said that she's leaving before shit gets even messier:
"It's been a great experience working on Up All Night, but the show has taken a different creative direction, and I decided it was best for me to move on to other endeavors. Working with Lorne Michaels has been a dream come true, and I am grateful he brought me into his TV family. I will miss the cast, producers and crew and wish them the best always."
Now that Kelly Bundy has quit that bitch, the only way NBC can save Up All Night is if they keep the title, fire Will Arnett, fire Maya Rudolph, dump the plot, hire the legendary Rhonda Shear and just have her introduce B-movies all night. Like this!
When NBC announced they were doing a show called Up All Night a couple of years ago, I really thought it was a reboot of this and got really excited. Rhonda Shear needs a major comeback (and no, that HSN shit doesn't count)!
I actually like Christina, Will and Maya but the show just wasn't funny. I think SNL people get a bad rap because the show is bad, but if you see Maya in stuff like Away We Go and Bridesmaids she is much better than her Beyonce impression would have you believe.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't think Maya Rudolph is funny. I don't hate her, I just don't think she's that great.

Crazy, IKR? Why don't they just show reruns,like metv? I'd watch that stuff. I can't with all the procedural shows about murderers. A friend told me I HAD to watch one (can't remember which) and in the first 10 minutes they found some kids body in a box, I turned it right the fuck off!

Aside from the marital issues, NBC was promoting him in this "Work for Will" contest, where the winner gets to work for him. really? He looks like the kind of douchebag to question you about being 5 minutes late and monitor how many clicks on the Internet you make in a day. His voice is kind o cool but the rest of him? meh. I hope the world clues him in on that so he can realize what a huge mistake he made in quitting on his family.

I kinda doubt Will Arnett cheated with Christina Applegate considering Maya Rudolph was around, that's beyond stupid if he did, she would undoubtedly tell his wife. CA should drop out of Up All Nite if Lorne Michaels replaced Veronica Corningstone with Kristen Wiig. Which I def see him doing, he takes care of all those SNL people to the nth degree.
The last time Maya R hosted SNL was by far the funniest of that season and CA's turn a few months ago was the best of this season as well. Def better than the Jeremy Renner and Jamie Foxx atrocities.
Come ON! Love Gob and Arrested Development. Can't wait for the new episodes.

I always really, really liked Christina and I never really understood why she wasn't a bigger star. To me she always seemed prettier and funnier than other women who made it big in romantic comedies. I mean compare her to Katherine Heigle, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Lopez, Julia Roberts I think Christina is hands down funnier and more attractive than all those bitches.

Yeah, the rumor never really indicated that he was hooking up with CA but that he became obsessed with his appearance and sculpting his body and his relationship with Amy just fizzled out. It really wasn't that juicy of a rumor.
This show sucks. I am so tired of the "We were a fun couple and now we have a baby and our life is about juice boxes and staying home! WOOOO!" formula shows.
And anyone who breaks Amy's heart is pure ass IMO.

I liked the show, but stopped watching half way through last year because my DVR needed to record something else. I actually didn't like Christina's character, I found her really annoying, so maybe if the show succeeds, I'll watch again.
Guess I am the only one that likes Maya Rudolph here, but I never got into this show. Her Donatella Versace and Jodi on "Bronx Beat" on SNL have me in stitches every time.
I will stick with Bridesmaids' Maya "I LOVE my new asshole!"

Wow, and just after 2 seasons? And why bother with the revamp..lol. I actually really enjoyed this show, so I'm kind of bummed. Its looking as though NBC just lost their entire Thursday night lineup!
CA makes this show - without her, why bother? I think Maya Ruldolph is completely overrated and hate her in this show. Will Arnett, while excellent in Arrested Development, seems to have jumped on the roid train. He's looking too buff and styled. The eyes are giving me a crazy vibe too.

the first season of this show was really good! regan was the working mom & chris was a stay at home dad, and maya was so funny as an oprah like daytime host. then they changed the whole thing in season 2, and it never really picked it's groove back. shame.

While I loved Married with Children when it first came on, I've never cared for Christina as an actress. She just comes across as cold and has a huge stick up her ass. No warmth there and when she is on a show ... it always blows.

Holy shit! Rhonda '"UP" All Night' Shear! I used to sneak downstairs just to watch 'Up All Night'after bedtime (well, that and 'Night Flight', another super-cool USA network show that inexplicably always showed Nina Hagen videos).
I'm still pissed that a "friend" borrowed all my VHS copies of both and then, inconsiderately enough, got fired and disappeared without returning them. Bastard.
